The President of Kazakhstan Arrives in Uzbekistan
At the invitation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev arrived June 13 inTashkent with an official visit.
President Islam Karimov met the high-ranking guest at the airport of the capital.
The current Uzbek-Kazakh summit meeting is considered to be a good opportunity to discuss pressing international and regional issues in the traditionally friendly and confidential environment.
Kazakhstan is Uzbekistan’s important trade partner in the region. The mutual trade turnover in 2012 amounted to around 2.8 billion US dollars.
The heads of our two states have kept the focus of their attention also on cultural and humanitarian interaction built on the common centuries-old traditions, customs and values of our two peoples.
Major events of the official visit are scheduled for June 14.
As reported earlier, the talks are expected to produce an agreement on strategic partnership and other bilateral documents designed to help bolster the multilayered and mutually advantageous Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation in a diversity of areas.
