The rate of growth of the world agricultural production in the next decade will slow down due to reduction of suitable lands and depletion of natural resources. Agricultural prices will remain high.
This was stated in the report of the Food and Agriculture Organization of UN (FAO), "Agricultural Outlook for 2013-2022". Report authors also said that in the next decade, the growth rate of the global agricultural production will compose average 1.5%. In the period from 2003 to 2012 the same indicator composed 2.1% per year.
Experts predict that in result of slowing down production growth and increasing demand "in the medium term, prices for crops and livestock products will remain higher of historical averages."
